Our Eco Club runs on a Thursday afterschool every fortnight. They have been looking carefully at rainforests and how humans have effected the animal and plant life in this region. They have also been loking at how we can protect some of the animal and plant life that is being threatened.

As a school we have put things like - Reducing, Reusing and Recycling high up on our priority list. A couple of years ago we were successful in gaining the:-

ECO GREEN FLAG AWARD

And we are now trying to get our second award.

What does Cogan do;-

- We Reduce our waste paper by using both sides.

- We reuse scrap paper at playtimes and in the classroom

- We recycle, any paper that cannot be reused is recycled.

- We have light sensors fitted to every room, this means that when the room is not in use the lights will automatically be turned off.

- We have a compost bin set up so that any food waste during play and lunch times can be composted.

- We are growing our own plants and vegetables in the infants.

- We have added lots of flower pots to the infant and junior yards.

- We have purchased a green house so that our plants and veg can grow even better.
